Learn About Hermit Crabs

Found in coastal tropical regions around the world and require access to
the ocean to breed.

Females carry fertilized eggs attached to her abdomen.

When hermit crabs shed their skin, they must find a new larger shell.

Hermit crabs are omnivores, meaning that they eat whatever they find including small fish, invertebrates, such as worms, plankton and any food particles that happen to be floating by.

They range in size from a fraction of an inch to the size of a coconut. Some species can live over 10 years.
