The Educational Team is a vital part in the success of Blue Zoo. Team members will be responsible for educating each guest that comes into our Aquarium. During each shift you will interact with our guests, teach them about the different exhibits and animals we have and ensure each guest has a memorable experience at Blue Zoo.

The education team position is a part time (30 hours or less) position that will work closely with the Director, Assistant Director and Husbandry team to ensure that this memorable experience is being achieved. Memorable customer service is what each team member will strive for everyday with every guest. Blue Zoo is a place of enjoyment and learning and we must make this a top priority when interacting with all of our guests.

Job Duties

Morning Shift:

• Help open up aquarium.
• Make sure register and gift shop are ready for guests
• Position yourself to first station.
• Educate guest on the exhibits and animals in your area
• Change station every hour to ensure variety
• Answer questions in a knowledgeable manner
• Up-sell tokens
• Provide 5-star customer experience at all times.
• Clean as you go
• ALWAYS BE SMILING

Mid Shift:

• Position yourself to first station.
• Educate guest on the exhibits and animals in your area
• Change station every hour to ensure variety
• Answer questions in a knowledgeable manner
• Up-sell tokens
• Provide 5-star customer experience at all times.
• Clean as you go
• ALWAYS BE SMILING

PM/Closing Shift:

• Position yourself to first station.
• Educate guest on the exhibits and animals in your area
• Change station every hour to ensure variety
• Answer questions in a knowledgeable manner
• Up-sell tokens
• Provide 5-star customer experience at all times.
• ALWAYS BE SMILING
• Clean floors in the aquarium
• Clean front of glass on all exhibits
• Close Register
• Make sure gift shop is ready for the following day

Job Description

Blue Zoo Aquarium is looking for an experienced individual for our janitorial team willing to work full time, that has a wide variety of skills and can help us to increase our facility’s efficiency. To become part of the Blue Zoo Team you will be required to do basic house cleaning such as, sweeping and mopping floors, using a ladder to dust light fixtures, exhibit signage, and shelving, taking out garbage and recycling, sanitizing sinks and removing salt water build up on walls. Communicating with on site management daily and checking in for new tasks is a must.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Ability to pass a background check
• Comfortability with ladders & heights
• Experience in basic cleaning practices and common use of various cleaning supplies and chemicals
• Ability to maintain basic communication skills with both management and in a customer service atmosphere
• Ability to finish tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain regular and consistent punctuality and attendance
• Ability to perform basic essential functions of a job (I.E. standing 5+ hours, bending, reaching above head, lifting up to 25lbs)

Qualifications

Education- Minimum High School Diploma

Experience- 2+ years of custodial work

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
