Peacock Day Gecko (Phelsuma quadriocellata) – Also known as the four spotted gecko, this is a brightly colored species. The name refers to the large black spot outlined by blue found behind the front legs.
They are dominant throughout Madagascar which experiences a tropical climate with abundant rainfall, high humidity, and relatively high temperatures. You normally find them in areas with heavy rainfall.
They stay in the trees and are active during the day
They will only reach 5 to 6 inches long as adults and live up to 15 years in captivity.
In the wild, they eat insects, flower nectar and fruit juice.
Like most day geckos they lay eggs and attach 2 of them together and bury them in the
soil.
